When John and Michelle came to us they wanted a simple ceremony with no attendants, a taco and slider station, and an epic dance party featuring their favorite funky sounds from artists like George Clinton, Stevie Wonder, and Talking Heads.
The ceremony and cocktail music was provided by Twin Cities Guitar Legend Javier Trejo. The TC-Daily Planet writes: “There isn’t any style Trejo can’t play. Between his writing and arranging (a ska reworking of The Temptations’ “The Way You Do The Things You Do”, pop-country rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” come to mind), he covers the gamut in a range of genres. You truly haven’t heard pure fire until you’ve caught him doing his original “Buscando La Gente”.”
Javi handed things over to us around 7:30 and we kept the party going all night. The large white board over the fireplace allowed a projection without needing a separate screen for slideshows and music videos.
The Chalet at Theodore Wirth Park was a perfect non-traditional venue for a non-traditional couple. We wish them all the best for their life and love together!
