While the Royal Wedding was almost happening, Erik and Taylee had a more intimate but no less special wedding day. They started with a remote ceremony setting at the very end of the Three Mile Drive at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Erik’s father Terry (an ordained minister) performed the ceremony on a beautiful sunny day. We provided sound for the officiant, readers, and Zachary Scot Johnson on guitar and vocals.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for a cocktail hour and reception where guests learned about Erik’s incredible wedding proposal.
“That silly boy. He woke me up like at 7:00 AM on a Saturday … cuz the boy is crazy under the pretense that we were meeting his mother to celebrate her recent birthday at the MN Zoo. Needless to say we were there super early before the zoo even opened – and I started to get suspicious but wasn’t quite awake enough to clue in. It was once we were allowed into the Zoo and then down to their kitchen to make the animals food that I totally clued in and was very excited. We got to watch the prep of the breakfast for the Red Panda they have at the zoo (my most favorite animal). Then we were led back behind the scenes into the Red Panda enclosure to put the breakfast out and ended up about a foot or two away from the red panda. It was soo amazing. Erik then led me back into the main area of the zoo, which we still basically had the place to ourselves, and to the visitors side of the Red Panda Enclosure and got down on one knee and proposed. I of course said yes 🙂 We spent the rest of the day together and taking our time going through the rest of the zoo.”
An epic dance party followed dinner highlighted by Talyee’s (born way after New Wave was in style) love of 80’s and 90’s New Wave artists. It sure was fun to play artists like The Cure, Modern English, Depeche Mode, and Duran Duran.
Congratulations to you both, we wish all the best to the new Mr and Mrs!
